Service life time opened with extensive resources

A constant flow of customers in and out of the three-story building, wearing a tight tank top, yoga pants and shorts.

The parking lot is filled with street-level Range Rover, Mercedes, Jaguar and Toyota, and the adjacent parking lot is half full.

Life Time Fitness busy to see, it looks as if the membership is free, not $ 119 per person, per month to enter.

The company's first day of operation on Friday in Las Vegas is crowded. Some people lined up at the service member to have their photo taken, while others, who took advantage of five for a month presales, breezed through the front desk.

For Saposhnik and, opening day is a chance to start over.

Saposhnik is a member of a nearby 24 Hour Fitness Agassi Super Sport 2090 at the Village Center Circle, but he never went. He hopes to change habits through Time Life, which is described as a more family friendly than other areas of the gym.

Saposhnik said the cost does not factor in the decision to join; he and his wife think of a Lifetime will be worth every penny.

His wife, Laurie, a spin-grade avid audience, went to a 5:30 class on Friday. Saposhnik arrived around 9:30 am to succeed, and will bring their children back to Alex about noon when he got out of school.

As Saposhniks, Mike and Julie Want to join the club to take advantage of 200 000 square feet. However, Mike said made him think twice the price to become a member. The couple paid $ 250 per month for the family received.

"The price is a little steep," he said.

Julie, though, was not surprised. He thought worth more than makes up for the cost.

"I think it's worth for what you get," says Julie.

As an active person, Julie said she thought they would make good use of the Life Time facilities, which include full-service spa and salon, cafe, yoga and Pilate’s studio, cycling and two pools. Mike, though, said they would see how much they use the center and is it worth the cost in a few months. Living Time Fitness offers month to month membership, so the client can cancel at any time.

Derived from Kansas, Eagers familiar with the Lifetime brand, but this is the first time they join.

Life Time Fitness, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol LTM, operates 92 centers in 26 major U.S. markets. Summerlin location has "several thousand" members already, thought Jason Thunstrom, vice president of corporate communications.

In addition to Life Time Fitness, the gym the other two had planned to take advantage of market Summerlin.

Power Plant recently opened 42,000-square-foot gym at 7980 W. Sahara Ave. In September, David Barton Gym scheduled to open 30,000 square feet of space in the Village of Tivoli.

Boon Morgan, owner of get fit and Trim, worked for 24 Hour Fitness as a general manager for eight years. He said that while it is active is important, that does not have a gym membership.

"Is exercise important? Of course," said Morgan. "Do you have to go to the gym? No"

Working in a garden, he says, can be just as effective as going to the gym.

Branden Collingsworth, a certified strength and conditioning coach, agrees with Morgan.

"A good exercise for a certain demographic that needs structure," says Collingsworth. "But you can get in great shape with just your weight."

Collingsworth runs a fitness camp called Camp Force Fit to cost $ 6 per session. He also is a personal trainer whose services cost $ 85 per hour.

"Not everyone can afford a trainer or a gym," he said.

Bahram Akradi, chairman of the Life Time Fitness', president, CEO and founder, said entering the new market is always challenging for his company because he wanted to differentiate its brand.

"Everybody eventually will ask, 'Why did you come to the market when there are so many other fitness centers?" "Akradi said." This is not a fitness center. "

The business model focuses on creating member-interest groups. For instance, Akradi wants to attract local basketball players, 20 percent of the most diligent in particular. He described them as the early adopters who want the best schedule of available facilities, training and league.

"Each interest group is created as if it's the only thing we've ever done," said Akradi.

Life Time Fitness in Summerlin operates with about 300 full-and part-time employees.
